PARENTAL HEALTH ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH

NATIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SENIOR HEALTHCARE SERVICES

Professionals Helping Seniors to Bring MISTY Into More Homes Across U.S.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Parental Health has signed an agreement with Professionals Helping Seniors (PHS), a national network of more than 600 alliances specializing in senior healthcare services. Through the partnership Parental Health’s solutions will be marketed across the U.S. as part of a PHS benefit program for individuals and corporations.

“Our primary objective is to get our product into more homes so it can empower seniors to live healthy, independent lives, and give their caregivers and families peace of mind. This relationship will help us take MISTY directly to more consumers and employees of large companies who can purchase the system and have it delivered by a PHS alliance directly to the parent or loved one they are supporting,” said Scotte Hudsmith, Parental Health President and CEO.

Parental Health develops innovative solutions that enable seniors to “age in place” with remote healthcare monitoring. Its flagship product MISTY – Medical Information Systems To You – is a patented, intuitive touchscreen technology platform that supports a straightforward approach to the management of chronic conditions and remotely connects seniors with their caregivers, families, and other resources.

PHS manages a network of alliances dedicated to supporting qualified, caring professionals who specialize in serving senior adults and their caregivers. The mission of the Alliance is to provide a centralized source for a wide variety of senior-specific services, and the national network comprises thousands of professionals who share a common focus and a sincere desire to find solutions to senior issues.

“A growing segment of America’s adult population is forced into a dual capacity of working full time, and serving as caregivers to their loved ones. This burden is taxing on the individual caregivers, and on their employers. They need services to help them manage these responsibilities, and MISTY is a perfect solution to bring remote monitoring into the home and create a better situation for seniors, their caregivers, and employers,” said Mike Verble, President and CEO of PHS.

Parental Health and PHS believe that this new relationship will help reduce the estimated $25 billion or more that U.S. businesses lose each year because of working caregivers’ absenteeism, hiring replacement workers, and other lost productivity. MISTY’s remote monitoring capabilities benefit individuals and employers, and reduce the overall cost of care by reducing emergency room visits and hospital re-admissions.

Geisinger Health Plan, for instance, recently reported a 44 percent reduction in hospital readmissions and increases in compliance following the implementation of a remote monitoring program. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has also reported substantial savings from telehealth and remote monitoring.

The cost of MISTY may be covered under specific Medicare and other commercial insurance plans, and physicians and other medical professionals may be reimbursed for certain telehealth services delivered through the platform.

Qualified employees can take advantage of financial benefits, including possible tax deductions and the ability to provide care to loved ones using pre-tax dollars.

Employees remain on the job without worry or concern for their loved ones, and employers benefit from the decrease in absenteeism and increase in productivity.

PHS also intends to include MISTY in the programs it offers to assist veterans with Title 38 benefits.
